Vision

God loves the people of Cambodia and wants them to rejoice in the blessing of His holy presence and salvation. We seek to follow after what He is already doing, to be heralds of Christ among the Cambodian people. We envision a place "without walls" (Zechariah 2:4, 5) because walls can't contain the blessings in it. It is so full of the glory of God that others are attracted to its light. It doesn't need walls to protect it because God surrounds it with His power and love. Where God dwells, the broken is restored, the bereaved rejoice, and the barren bears fruit. These are not promises of instant health, quick wealth, or easy grace, but assurances that when God is present there is resurrection power: souls are redeemed, hearts are transformed, and lives are given hope and meaning.

Mission

Empowering Christ-centered holistic ministry in Cambodia through leadership development and ministry coordination.

About Cambodia

Cambodia is a small country bordering Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and the Gulf of Thailand. The Khmer Rouge's rule of Cambodia in the 1970s ravaged the country. Out of a population of 13 million, an estimated three million people were killed under Khmer Rouge rule. The country is still recovering from this horrific time. Cambodia has a rich cultural heritage, including the powerful Khmer Kingdom of Angkor in the ninth century. But today, it is one of the world's poorest and least developed countries. About 95 percent of Cambodians are Buddhist; only two percent are Christian. Yet, the church has been growing rapidly over the last decade. The church now has an acute need for leadership training on all levels.

Ministry in Cambodia

o Creating a Kingdom ministry center with multiple partners
o Leading/organizing seminars and other training events that build the capacity of the national church to respond to the need for holistic ministries
o Working with CRWRC Cambodia staff by providing a theological perspective and pastoral support
o Teaching (as time and opportunity permit) in Phnom Penh Bible School
o Developing relationships with other potential partners in mission for the up-building of the church and Christ's kingdom in Cambodia
o Discipling Cambodian youth and college students

Vision

We believe that the Lord will continue to equip us to witness to the Good News of God셲 Kingdom and make disciples of all nations.

Mission

Our mission is to "Live, Learn, Light, and Love." Live: by living among the people and working together with them, we hope to show God's love through our actions and words. Learn: learning the culture, history, language, food, music, ideas, wisdom, and faith will show the love of Christ. Light: serving and supporting Mexican brothers and sisters in Christ. Love: loving people through God's creation and redemption in Jesus Christ.

Ministry in Mexico

We partner with the Presbyterian Reformed Church of Tijuana, Mexico, focusing on church planting, leadership training, and discipleship. We are involved in marriage counseling and Bible studies, children's ministry, music ministry, visitation, and preaching. James has also been serving as a ministry strategist consult at a local Christian drug and alcohol rehab center. The center often has 80-100 men. James is involved in Bible studies, discipleship, counseling, and mentoring of the men and leaders. Occasionally, we are also involved in various ministries such as: orphan care, health ministry, hospitality ministry, street evangelism, hosting mission teams, and more.

About James & Barbarita

God called us both from opposite sides of the world to serve in Tijuana, Mexico as church developers. James was born in South Korea, but grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Los Angeles, California, where he developed a love for Spanish speakers. Barbarita served in Yucatan, Mexico for several summers with I.D.E.A. Ministries, learning the language and developing a passion for Mexico. God graciously allowed us both to graduate from Reformed Bible College (now Kuyper College) with Bachelors in Missions. James continued preparing for missions by obtaining a Masters in Missions at Calvin Theological Seminary while Barbarita completed nursing studies. Now as we live and minister in Mexico with our children, we believe that the Lord will continue to equip us to witness to the Good News of God's Kingdom and make disciples of all nations.
